Chaplaincy Training Opportunities Chaplain Rich Williamson: richwilliamson@pitel.net or call (507) 254-2755 (cell). An additional focus of the Chaplains ministry is to provide training/equipping opportunities for those who feel led to become volunteer or bivocational chaplains. I also serve as the SBC/MWBC representative for career SBC professional chaplains serving in Minnesota-Wisconsin. While my experience and expertise is in the realm of hospital chaplaincy, there are many possible fields of service. Some of these include: Disaster Relief, military, prison/jail, police/fire/EMT, industrial, workplace, nursing/care centers, hospitals, to name a few. Chaplains are truly Gods marketplace ministers. We are building a network of support for this growing ministry of chaplaincy in MWBC. If you are serving as a volunteer chaplain in some capacity, please contact me, and let me know what God is doing through your ministry. Equipping is provided on an annual basis at Empower, an annual MWBC event, held the third weekend in March, Thursday evening through Saturday noon at Green Lake, WI. Empower will be held March 17-19, 2011. Lay Theological Training opportunities can be found by clicking on "Contextualized Leadership Development" (CLD) found by clicking on the "Health" icon, then on CLD. Volunteer Chaplaincy training is provided at other times as scheduled. If your church would like to schedule volunteer Chaplaincy training, please contact me. See also the Disaster Relief Volunteer Chaplains Unit page for more equipping opportunities. For more information, click on "Disaster Relief", Upcoming Training Opportunities. |
