As Justin and Lacy McKay celebrated their new marriage in Denver, Colorado, they looked around and asked a question they couldn’t answer: “Where are all the churches?” As they did some research, they realized Denver was in a Gospel desert and desperately needed more churches.
To help engage metro Denver with the Gospel, the couple launched The Local Church in the historic district of Arvada, Colorado, which borders Denver. The Local Church has tried to be great guests of the school where they meet. Although many of the school’s faculty are far from God, the congregation is praying fervently that God will cultivate the Gospel seeds they are planting.
The Cooperative Program (CP) takes the Gospel to the nations and the neighborhoods. As we give through the Cooperative Program, we’re helping new churches like The Local Church to engage families as they build relationships in the communities where their churches meet.
Pray that Justin will lead with grit and courage, as he equips the church to be resilient believers.
