With the conviction that one size rarely fits anyone, we have developed four distinct and unique church planting training tracks designed to prepare a church planter for the different realities for both the planter and his assignment. None of these are lecture/information dispensaries. Instead they are peer-cohort learning environments designed to give planters the tools to develop and implement a strategic mission unique to his gifts, chosen model and context.
Replant Training: (5 months)
Replant training assumes that a planter’s core group may not be as “on board” with him as he might hope. This training presupposes a greater background in ministry experience, theological adeptness and shepherding capabilities to effectively guide a leader that is replanting a dying congregation.
Replanters tend to be highly motivated by a desire for God’s glory to be seen in neighborhoods where only remnants of the past testify to His former activity. Replant training, through a five-month cohort experience, will help you navigate strategic steps and avoid landmines common in a replanting context.
Planter Training: (5 months)
This is the training that veteran church planters wished we all had before we ever started planting. This planting track leans toward planters who have some ministry experience, formal theological background and may or may not be indigenous to the context of their mission field.
Over a period of five months, you will be trained to develop a contextual strategy that effectively plants through evangelism and disciple making and builds in an organic system of church multiplication.
At the end of the process, you will be able to find the thread that connects your unique call and gifting to your specific context to the appropriate planting model. All of these together result in a powerful, self-sustaining and multiplying new church.
BLVD Training: (8 Months)
BLVD is an eight-month training track that is positioned closest to the harvest. Cultivating church planting movements across North America necessitates a strategy that trains planters who instinctively understand and effectively communicate within their context.
To make this happen, we equip the indigenous leader with tools to become a healthy practitioner, and we equip the practitioner with tools to practice indigenously. The BLVD track is highly discipleship-based and is inclined toward planters ministering within the density, diversity, beauty and complexity of life in the city.
Candidates in this track may or may not have formal theological training, but they have a clear sense of calling, a heart for the city and a conviction for a holistically redemptive gospel ministry for one of North America’s great cities.
For married church planters to be successful, it always requires a profound and shared calling by their spouse. Without the synergistic teamwork of husband and wife, the plant has little chance of success.
With this acknowledgment, we have felt the moral and spiritual obligation to develop a training track that equips the planting wife for the likely realties that she will experience, so she can flourish with her husband in this kingdom assignment.
With consideration to the rhythms of busyness from family, work and community expectations, this training is delivered through various mediums in order to give the greatest possibility of maximum participation and encouragement.
